Eligibility requirements, award amounts, application deadlines, and selection criteria are announced for each scholarship cycle. Graduating high school students and their families are encouraged to review the current application for complete requirements and submit all requested materials by the published deadline.
The Sean Strong Scholarship honors Coach Sean André Wallace’s commitment to education, mentorship, and creating opportunities for young people. Through this program, The Wallace Foundation invests in graduating high school students as they take the next step toward higher education and future success.
More than financial assistance, the scholarship reflects our commitment to Educational Advancement by helping reduce barriers to education while encouraging academic achievement, leadership, personal growth, and community involvement. The scholarship is part of our broader work to prepare young people for successful futures through college and vocational readiness, STEAM exposure, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career exploration.
Who may apply
- High school senior enrolled in East Baton Rouge or Orleans Parish Schools
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Active involvement in community service, leadership, or extracurricular activities
- Demonstrates resilience, perseverance, and a commitment to overcoming obstacles
What to submit
- Completed application form
- Response to the prompt: “What does being #SeanStrong mean to you?” (500–750 words)
- Letter of recommendation (from a teacher, mentor, coach, or community leader)
- Resume or list of activities and achievements
