Born in 1972, Sean Wallace is a native of New Orleans, La. Wallace graduated from O. Perry Walker Senior High School and continued his education at Southern University A&M College. As a walk on, he went on to dominate both on and off the field with the #1 defense in the country.

During the legendary coach Pete Richardson’s first season, Wallace led the Jaguars to both the 1993 SWAC Championship and Black College National Championship before leaving the university to walk on to the Arizona Cardinals where he played a season.

Wallace was highly decorated as a player, earning two-time all SWAC, SWAC Defensive Player of the Year, Bayou Classic MVP, two-time Sheridan Black College All American, Walter Camp All American, and Kodak All American.

In 2011, he was elected unanimously to the Southern University Football Hall of Fame.

Wallace’s journey through Southern was unique— having went back over 25 years later to finish his degree after his children all graduated from college. While away, he served as a Youth Minister and mentor, as well as a successful business man.

In 2021, he founded the Wallace Foundation— an organization to support and develop the underserved and at-risk families through mentorship, education, healthy living,

physical and mental health.

Currently, Sean Wallace is a Safeties coach at Southern University A&M College. Wallace previously spent over a decade coaching on the high school level at The Dunham School and Mentorship Academy in Baton Rouge, La.

His greatest accomplishments are off the field as a husband of 30 years to Venio Wallace, a proud father to three children, Tonyatta, Abraham and Sadijah Wallace and as a grandfather to Tiana and DJ.
